Always and again cited as an example, whether to praise his qualities or to highlight his shortcomings, Steve Jobs, although almost a decade has passed, is still as much in the news. The founder of Apple, who died at age 56 in 2011 from cancer, literally changed the world and our relationship to technology. But what kind of entrepreneur was he?

An innovative founder.

Steve Jobs is an innovative entrepreneur like few others in a century. He revolutionized the world of computing with the very first Macintosh, iPod, iPhone and tablet. Tools that will leave their mark on generations to come!

A policy based on the essentials.

Steve Jobs did not bother with the useless. He often said, “Deciding what not to do is as important as deciding what to do. It’s true for company management, it’s also true for products. Every year, the entrepreneur asked the 100 most important people in the company to think about 10 key things that Apple should do in the near future. In total, he selected only 3.

He knew how to draw inspiration from his surroundings.

Steve Jobs had the ability to determine the potential of innovative projects. It was while visiting the Xerox Parc lab, one of the first concepts of a mouse-controlled graphical interface, that he invented the first Macintosh.

A man without a model, who didn’t care about rules.

The only law he followed was that of his heart and his intuition. He had no dogma and didn’t care about rules. This is what he regularly advised young graduates in public speaking engagements, notably at Stanford University in 2005. Furthermore, Steve Jobs’ philosophy of life was not to be like anyone else and not to live someone else’s life.

A visionary entrepreneur.

He was known for having new ideas and often going against the tide. His strength lay in his ability to anticipate the future, not just the present. He didn’t follow trends
